Every day we provide our clinical laboratory services to more than 20,000 patients in communities across the province.

LifeLabs is currently seeking a new Director for the Clinical Chemistry Division in British Columbia. The candidate will join a team of Clinical Chemists and Medical Biochemists and will be based out of our state-of the-art-facility on Canada's west coast in the city of Burnaby, BC.

The LifeLabs biochemistry laboratory provides community and reference laboratory services across the spectrum of clinical biochemistry from high volume routine testing to special chemistry, Immunopathology and Toxicology. The laboratory is equipped with cutting edge analytical technologies and robotic systems with a view to providing the highest standard in laboratory quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership skills and technical competence in the testing processes for clinical chemistry. Experience in high volume chemistry and an area of specialist interest will be of added value.
  • There are opportunities to be involved with external laboratory groups and for suitably qualified individuals there is the possibility for an appointment or involvement with the University of British Columbia.

Requirements:

  • Experienced medical biochemist or general/clinical pathologist with interest in clinical chemistry and will consider suitably experienced clinical chemists
  • Must hold or be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, international equivalent or Canadian Academy of Clinical Biochemists. All candidates must be eligible for registration and licensure in British Columbia.
