PART-TIME POSITION NEUROPATHOLOGY

OTTAWA, CANADA

The Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association invites applications for a part-time (0.6 FTE) staff Neuropathologist in the Division of Anatomical Pathology. This position will be vacant as of April 1, 2018. The candidate will be expected to be in part (0.4 FTE) providing pediatric neuropathology service to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, and in part (0.2 FTE) associated with the neuropathology group at The Ottawa Hospital-Civic campus, providing adult neuropathology service. This service includes on call service. Depending on the type of license of the applicant, there is potential to expand the position in the future with an additional 0.4 FTE of service in Anatomical Pathology.

Both at CHEO and The Ottawa Hospital the scope of work includes all aspects of neuropathology including surgical pathology, autopsy pathology, and nerve- and muscle pathology.  The applicant would also be expected to contribute to the clinical, scholarly and educational activities of the department and contribute to the department's undergraduate, graduate and residency training programs. The University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Research Institute, The Ottawa Hospital Research Institutes and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute provide ample opportunities for collaborative and autonomous research.

The selected candidate will receive an academic appointment in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Ottawa. The candidates must hold an MD degree, appropriate specialty certification, including pediatric neuropathology training, and must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario.
