Message from CAP-ACP President Victor Tron, MD, FRCPC
On behalf of the Canadian Association of Pathologists - Association canadienne des pathologistes, I encourage you to participate in International Pathology Day on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. It offers an opportunity to showcase our profession by providing national leadership and promoting excellence in pathology and laboratory medicine practice, education and research across our Nation.
The CAP-ACP is honoured to recognize the dedication and importance of all pathologists. This day offers the opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding contribution made by pathologists across Canada.
Patients rely on the skills, knowledge, and expertise of pathologists who continue a long tradition of providing high quality patient care, upholding the standards of the profession, and working to improve patient safety and quality assurance. Use this day as an opportunity to commemorate the key role that pathologists have in daily analyzing hundreds of thousands of test results and biopsy specimens, to make critical diagnoses, that determine how patients are treated. Get out from under the microscope and bring awareness to what we do and how we do it. Use this opportunity to better inform the public (your patients) on your important role in how effective medical treatment begins with the pathologist’s accurate diagnosis.
The CAP-ACP proudly recognizes the contributions made by its members in all areas of pathology. Thank you all for owning your practice – be proud of all you do!
Happy International Pathology Day!
