Dr. Jagdish Butany

Biographical summary
Jagdish Butany, is a physician and a professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, as well as Head of the Division of Anatomical Pathology at the University of Toronto. He is a staff pathologist at the University Health Network/Toronto Medical Laboratories, Head of the division of Clinical Cardiovascular Pathology and Director of Autopsy services at the UHN. He has published over 175 peer reviewed articles on cardiovascular pathology, written several book chapters and presented his research work at international conferences. His major interest is Cardiovscular Pathology and the Pathology of Prosthetic Cardiovascular devices. He is the Co Editor-in-Chief of Cardiovascular Pathology (the official journal of the International Society for Cardiovascular Pathology).
Doctor Butany enjoys teaching, and teaches at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Toronto medical school as well as in several other faculties at the University of Toronto. He has a major interest in Continuing Medical Education and has organized and spoken at workshops on Cardiovascular topics. He has received several awards for his teaching activities. Prior to being elected Vice President of the CAP, Dr. Butany was the Chair of the Education Committee of the CAP and organised the Saturday and Sunday workshops for the Annual Meetings.
