Position description
The McGill University Department of Pathology and the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Department of Laboratory Medicine are seeking a full-time pathologist to join the Division of Gynecological Pathology at the Glen site, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical). This faculty appointment will be part of the Contract Academic Staff and does not confer eligibility for tenure. The professorial rank will be determined according to the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Glen Pathology lab processes over 75,000 surgical specimens annually. The Pathology division offers residency rotations in subspecialty areas in Anatomic Pathology and Molecular Pathology. Depending on the candidate’s profile and track record of academic activities, a clinician-researcher position could be created.

Job Duties
The successful candidate is expected to participate in the diagnostic work of the gynecological pathology team at the Glen site. They will share intraoperative consultations and on-call duties with the other members of the pathology team and actively participate in quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement programs. The successful candidate is to maintain the highest possible standards of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established performance indicators and turn-around times.

The successful candidate will also be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (teaching, research, supervision of graduate students, and involvement in other scholarly duties such as academic and/or administrative committees) and provide excellent clinical teaching and supervision to diverse pathology residents and medical students.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Requirements:
• An MD degree with certification in Anatomic Pathology (Royal College or equivalent)
• and licensure or eligibility for licensure in Quebec;
• One year of fellowship training in Gynecologic Pathology;
• A commitment to teaching and an interest in clinical research and publication;
• Excellent references and a strong track record of collegiality with co-workers.
Assets:
• French language skills.
