Academic Anatomical Pathologist

Applications are invited for an Anatomical Pathologist position in the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP), with an academic appointment at an appropriate rank in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University. The ideal candidate will have subspecialty expertise through a recognized fellowship, or at least five years practice experience in gynecologic oncologic pathology, including related molecular/biomarker testing and reporting. Additional experience in breast pathology will be an asset. Strong surgical pathology and frozen section skills are required, as well as participation in performing hospital autopsies and cytology reporting.

The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment and is expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and in the development of a research program.

The HRLMP covers all anatomical pathology services for two large tertiary care hospitals in Hamilton – St. Joseph’s Healthcare and Hamilton Health Sciences, and employs more than 30 pathologists.

Applicants must hold certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, in Anatomical or General Pathology, and hold or be eligible to obtain medical licensure in the Province of Ontario.
