The Department of Pathology at Dalhousie University in Halifax seeks to recruit three Pathologists for the Division of Anatomical Pathology.
These positions are for Pathologists with subspecialty expertise in the following areas: Genitourinary Pathology (currently the area of greatest need), Breast Pathology, and Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology. Expertise and/or training in Molecular Pathology or Cytopathology is considered highly desirable. The candidate would be expected to participate in resident training for DPM and DCP residents, frozen section duty, evening and weekend call. Participation in the autopsy service may be expected, depending upon expertise and interest.
The successful applicant will join 28 other members of staff in the Division of Anatomical Pathology at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre (QEII HSC).

It provides a broad range of medical care to patients in the Maritime Provinces and beyond. Yearly, the Division handles around 50,000 surgical pathology cases, including consultation cases, 40,000 gynecological cytopathology cases, and 9,000 non-gynecological cytopathology cases. We have a busy, expanding Molecular Pathology service.
The position involves clinical service, as well as a commitment to medical education and research. Canadian certification in Diagnostic and Molecular/Anatomical Pathology or Diagnostic and Clinical/General Pathology is a requirement. The successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty position at Dalhousie University commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
Halifax is a growing, dynamic port city of nearly 500,000, with excellent schools, vibrant entertainment and restaurant scenes, and easy access to beaches, lakes and outdoor sporting activities. There are good airline connections to the US, Europe and elsewhere in Canada.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. Dalhousie University is an institution committed to Employment Equity.
