FULL-TIME LYMPHOMA and HEMATOPATHOLOGIST

Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) North Sector, in partnership with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a qualified full-time Lymphoma and Hematopathologist. Experience/interest in Flow Cytometry oversight and/or Molecular Pathology would be an asset but is not essential. The successful applicant may also be considered for appointment with the University of Alberta’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
The Department of Lab Medicine & Pathology, with 100+ pathologists’ functions as a Center of Excellence, supported by state-of-the-art ancillary testing capabilities (immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and molecular pathology). APL North Sector offers a full range of clinical services including two level I trauma centers, solid organ transplantation, high risk obstetrics, Level 1-3 neonatal intensive care, hematology-oncology, and cardiovascular surgery services.

Job Summary & Responsibilities
Pathologist must maintain the highest possible standards of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics, must actively participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs, and must actively participate in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate medical teaching. This position may consist of involvement and interaction with different APL laboratory sites in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta with certification in Hematological Pathology, or in Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology/General Pathology certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Pathology with a Hematopathology fellowship and lymphoma sign-out experience or a Lymphoma Fellowship with bone marrow sign out experience. A proven track record of collegiality and collaborative practice is required.
Compensation
Relocation Assistance is provided. Starting remuneration is commensurate with the level of fellowship training and experience, ranging from $364,597.00 to $424,123.00.
