ANATOMIC PATHOLOGIST – BRITISH COLUMBIA

A full-time position for an Anatomic Pathologist at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre is available within the integrated practice of Dr. C.J. Coady Associates. ARHCC is a regional referral hospital and cancer centre providing specialized surgical, medical and oncology programs and is affiliated with the University of British Columbia as a teaching hospital. ARHCC has 300 beds, including a 10 bed ICU, and provides services to a catchment population of approximately 350,000. We receive a wide range of surgical pathology specimens as well as non-gynecologic cytology (fine needle aspirates). Start date in mid to late 2024 is flexible.
The successful candidate will join a team of 4 anatomic pathologists providing general surgical pathology and cytopathology services. A minimum of 3 years experience is preferable, and subspecialty training or expertise in either GI or dermatologic pathology would be an asset. The candidate must be experienced with grossing of specimens.
Qualified candidates must be fully licensed or eligible for full licensure with the B.C. College of Physicians and Surgeons, and must hold specialist qualifications in Anatomic Pathology or General Pathology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The successful candidate will be eligible for academic appointment as clinical faculty through the University of British Columbia. Qualified candidates must be eligible to work in Canada without restriction i.e. Canadians and permanent residents of Canada.
Dr. C.J. Coady Associates is a large partnership of laboratory physicians, which has been providing a range of consulting diagnostic laboratory services for over 60 years and currently provides services to 12 hospitals in the Fraser Health Authority.
The city of Abbotsford is located within the Fraser Valley, surrounded by the Coastal Mountains, and is close to White Rock, Fort Langley and Vancouver. It offers a comfortable west coast climate, extensive recreational facilities, and easy access to fresh water and ocean beaches, US border crossings, hiking, mountain biking, fishing and skiing.
