Calgary Laboratory Services (CLS) and the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (DPLM) are seeking a qualified pathologist with Fellowship training in Cytopathology or AFC training as recognized by the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada.  Applicants with Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology or another subspecialty in Surgical Pathology may be acceptable depending on the need.  Candidates must have good references and possess a strong track record of collegiality with co-workers.  Interest in Quality Assurance would be an asset.   The successful candidate will join our current group of 95+ laboratory physicians and scientists working mostly at an acute care institution with a smaller group of pathologists. Successful candidates must have recent experience in a setting with a similar case complexity.  CLS is an independent, but publically funded organization that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS), and is affiliated with the University of Calgary (U of C).  The successful candidate will receive a Clinical Faculty appointment.  The DPLM and CLS offer residency training programs in Anatomic Pathology, General Pathology, Neuropathology and Medical Microbiology, as well as Fellowship training in subspecialty areas within Anatomic Pathology.

Calgary, the largest city in Alberta, is located within an hour’s drive of the Rocky Mountains, and within a half day’s drive of eight national parks.  There are many opportunities for indoor and outdoor activities (three nearby UNESCO World Heritage Sites, world class athletic facilities, and many cultural events).
