Academic Hematopathologist (Two Full-Time Positions)

The Division of Hematopathology in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine of the Nova Scotia Health Authority in Halifax, is seeking two full-time academic hematopathologists at the QEII Health Sciences Centre. This facility is a large, tertiary care teaching hospital affiliated with Dalhousie University and is the major adult referral centre for the Maritime Provinces. The successful applicants will join an active team of nine hematopathologists and two clinical scientists that serves a wide variety of patient programs including hematology, oncology, bleeding disorders, bone marrow and organ transplantation and blood transfusion.  The Division has active Royal College residency training programs in Hematopathology and Transfusion Medicine.  It is a busy clinical service, providing state-of- the- art diagnostic methods and research opportunities in morphology, molecular pathology, bone marrow transplantation, coagulation disorders, transfusion medicine, flow cytometry and HLA typing. These permanent positions require a commitment to clinical service, teaching and research.  The successful applicants will be expected to participate in all aspects of clinical hematopathology service.  Protected time for research may be arranged for a suitably qualified candidate. 

Applicants must hold certification from the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or acceptable equivalent) in Hematological Pathology.  The successful candidates will be eligible for an academic position in the Department of Pathology at Dalhousie University.
