Locum Tenens, Anatomical Pathology


Applications are invited for a 12 month locum position for an Anatomical Pathologist commencing July 1, 2020 within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care. Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent and be eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and must have postgraduate training/qualifications in Anatomical or General Pathology. The ideal candidate would have experience in general surgical pathology, but our pathology service is subspecialized and gastrointestinal pathology would comprise a significant component of the workload. Preference will be given to candidates with an established background of diagnostic expertise. The salary and benefit package is competitive and attractive.

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine serves London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care and the Middlesex Hospital Alliance. This department has an annual workload of approximately 60,000 surgical specimens, 30,000 cytology specimen and 700 autopsies. LHSC & SJHC are affiliated with Western University. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Western University has a long history of strength and excellence in many areas of diagnostic service, teaching and research, and is a highly collegial place in which to work. The Department has 35 pathologists and is one of 22 departments in the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry (www.schulich.uwo.ca).

Duties/Responsibilities:
The preferred candidate will be responsible for service in general surgical pathology including GI Pathology.
