The Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP) is inviting applications for a full-time position as an Anatomical Pathologist with academic interests. Preference will be given to those with extra training or work experience in renal pathology, cardiovascular or breast pathology.
The HRLMP encompasses four acute care hospital sites and includes pathology laboratories at Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare. McMaster University plays an integral role in the educational life of Hamilton, providing a stimulating academic environment with unique opportunities for clinical and basic research. The successful candidate will be expected to have teaching responsibilities in undergraduate, postgraduate and graduate programs. The successful incumbent will also actively participate in collaborative research as appropriate.
In view of recent uncertainty amongst new graduates from residency programs, the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University will consider candidates willing to pursue in-house extra training in any of the above Pathology sub-specialties. Such training will be supervised by McMaster University Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine faculty members, well known sub-specialists in the areas listed. This will be completed in two years, as a part-time fellowship. The successful candidate must be eligible or hold a certificate in Anatomical or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, have an Ontario license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Recent graduates with “Ontario Restricted Certificate of Registration for exam eligible candidates” will also be considered. The position is available July 1, 2020.
Interested candidates are invited to submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and the names and addresses of three referees to the address below. Applications will be accepted until this position is filled. For more information please contact:
