Island Health’s Division of Anatomical Pathology has an opportunity for a full-time subspecialty gynecological pathologist to join the team at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia, with an anticipated start date of May 1, 2021.
You have a Fellowship in Anatomical Pathology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or its equivalent) and are eligible for licensure in the province of British Columbia. You are an excellent diagnostician with superlative interpersonal and collaborative abilities. You have subspecialty fellowship training or a proven expertise in gynecological pathology. Your primary duties will relate to gynecological pathology, with a high volume subspecialty caseload derived from gynecologic oncology, general obstetrics and gynecology, and colposcopy patients. You will also provide external gynecological pathology consultation services, and participate in multidisciplinary gynecology tumor conferences. A broad experience in anatomical pathology would be an asset, as participation in the group coverage of on-call, frozen section, and hospital (non-coroner) autopsy services is also required. A commitment to teaching is also expected, as you will mentor students of the Island Medical Program at the University of Victoria and resident physicians, particularly those on elective rotation in gynecological pathology.
In this position, you will be eligible for appointment in the Island Health Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics, and as an Associate of the Victoria Pathology Consulting Corporation. You may also apply for a clinical appointment with the Department of Pathology at the University of British Columbia.
