Review of pathologist's work complete; 5 critical incidents reported

Diagnostic Services of Manitoba (DSM) has released the results of a review of 3,006 pathology cases of diagnosed by a pathologist, sparked by a routine audit by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, as well the DSM's internal quality control procedures last June. Out of the 137 cases, 5 critical incidents were reported, such that patients required a significant change in their treatment plan or had a change in prognosis. Winnipeg Free Press story.
