Most clinical laboratories require patients to fast at least 8 hours before having their cholesterol levels checked, but Canadian researchers report that may be unnecessary. The laboratory information system data mining study was led by Dr. Christopher Naugler, assistant professor of clinical pathology at the University of Calgary, in Canada and CAP-ACP member.
