Passed away peacefully on 19 March 2013 at age 89 after a short illness in Harrogate Hospital, Yorkshire, UK.
His MD was from the University of Sheffield, followed by a stint of post-war service, achieving the rank of Major.
Pathology at St. Georges Hyde Park was followed by a move to Regina Saskatchewan as Director of Labs at the Grey Nuns, a brief sojourn in New Brunswick before returning to Director of the Labs at the South Saskatchewan Hospital until his retirement back to Ripon in Yorkshire, UK.
He was a committed teacher and a superb diagnostician.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kay) and two sons David (Pathologist) and Andrew (Emergency medicine/ GP),
