Winner of the 2015 Royal College Resident Leadership award!
Dr. Chelsea Maedler-Kron is currently a fourth year resident in McGill University’s Anatomical Pathology program. She completed her medical degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada.
Dr. Maedler-Kron has been active in further aligning the evolution of McGill’s Anatomical Pathology Program towards the Royal College’s Competence by Design (CBD) model, and has been responsible for proposing and initiating many program improvements, including the preparation and delivery of a CBD workshop for residents.
She is involved politically within the hospital as elected chief resident, and acts as a strong advocate for her peers beyond the hospital as well, as the resident representative for the Canadian Association of Pathologists’ local organizing committee. Dr. Maedler-Kron is also a dedicated and talented teacher, and in addition to promoting awareness of the importance of pathologists to the public, she has also volunteered her time to mentor several medical students who wish to explore anatomical pathology as a career path.
Dr. Maedler-Kron is currently working on several collaborative research projects, including one on the impact of endoscopic and histologic healing on clinical outcomes in patients with ulcerative colitis.
